Philips announced May 2009 that it will discontinue shipments of NEW FR2 AEDs. They are offerring a $500 Trade In Rebate on the purchase of the HeartStart® FRx and a $250 Rebate on the Purchase of an OnSite AED They will continue to support existing warranties and customers. Pads and batteries will still be available, but new orders are not being accepted. Trade in offer expires June 30, 2011.

The Philips HeartStart FR2 defibrillator is designed for professionals and designated responders in EMS, fire, police, outdoor settings and harsh workplace environments. The FR2 has the benefit of the ECG display that gives the person treating the patient the immediate picture of what is happening to the heart.
The newer software versions of the FR2 have Quick Shock is capable of delivering a shock in 10 seconds following CPR.
