A Canadian man in his late 60's has Tom Quickel and Kirk Shelly to thank for being alive today. Quickel and Shelly rushed into action during a dance that was held at Cypress Bend RV park when a man fell to the floor and started to turn blue. The two immediately began issuing CPR and called 911.

They used a Philips FRx AED in combination with CPR to revive the man until Estero Fire Department arrived on scene. Quickel and Shelly had recently just been part of a group of residents trained in CPR and use of their AED at Cypress Bend RV park. Upon arrival on scene a woman from Estero Fire Department commented saying, "The FRx machine is one of the best AED's on the market." Estero Fire Department was able to arrive within 6 minutes and Quickel and Shelly's efforts combined to help save the man's life. After revival the man was flown home where he underwent a triple bypass and is doing very well.
