Friends Take Quick Action to Save a Life During a Basketball Game

I want to share the story of my husband, Tony, and how the AED purchased from Altra Medical by the Fairview Baptist Church saved his life. He went into cardiac arrest after playing basketball for two hours at the church gym. Tony collapsed in front of the surveillance camera and it was amazing to see him receiving CPR and to watch Josh shock Tony back with the AED.

Clips from the tape have been played on 40 news stations across the country and the CBS News crew came to our house and also to the gym where the incident happened. Tony went into cardiac arrest on June 11, 2013 and was back at work one week later after one stent was put in his front artery due to him having a small heart attack. We have been doing everything we can to get the word out about how AEDs saves lives. In a little over a month Tony's story has went national due to great footage of him getting shocked back to life on the gym floor.

G4S Officers at Tropicana revived the life of a worker who collapsed.

Officers responded to a call where a worker collapsed and fell off a golf cart in the manufacturing area. They found him unresponsive and called 911.

Officers were equipped with a Philips HeartStart FRx AED and placed the pads on the victims chest.  The AED advised a shock.  The officers did CPR for over five minutes and restored a heart beat to the victim by the time Bradenton EMS arrived.

The G4S officers Ian Harrington, Larry Jamieson and Tropicana employee Chauncey Craytonwere presented with a HeartSaver Award by Altra Medical.  The Officers were also recognized by Vinney of G4S and received the medal of distinction.
