LIFEPAK 500, LIFEPAK CR PLUS, LIFEPAK EXPRESS End of Life

Stryker - (formerly Physio Control and Medtronic) has announced end of life for the LIFEPAK 500, CR PLUS and LIFEPAK EXPRESS.

On March 20, 2020 Stryker sent customers an Urgent Medical Device Safety and Correction Action Required Letter for the LIFEPAK 500.  This notice calls attention to a potential mechanical wear through on high volume devices where the pads were not detected by the AED, and as a result would not work in a rescue.  They are recommending the units should be replaced.  If you encounter prompts of "CONNECT ELECTRODES" and they are connected, the device should be immediately removed from service.

Previously they notified customers that they would no longer support the LIFEPAK 500 and batteries would no longer be available after February 2020.

LIFEPAK CR PLUS & LIFEPAK EXPRESS 

On November 27, 2019 Stryker notified customers that they were discontinuing sales of the LIFEPAK CR Plus and LIFEPAK Express AEDs effective immediately.  They will continue to offer replacement supplies through out the remaining warranty period of five or eight years depending on the product.  Please see the Discontinuation Notice.
